USTR ANNOUNCES ADDITIONAL SECTION 301 TARIFFS ON CERTAIN EU PRODUCT
In the most recent move of the ongoing dispute over aircraft subsidies, the Office of the U.S. Trade Representative (USTR) announced additional Section 301 tariffs on goods imported from the European Union (EU).
An additional 15% tariff will be assessed on aircraft parts, with an additional 25% tariffs on various other goods, including certain non-sparkling wines, cognac, and other grape brandies from France and Germany effective January 12, 2021. This latest action is in response to the imposition of tariffs on $4 billion worth of goods imported into the EU from the U.S. beginning November 10, 2020. Although this is an ongoing dispute between the United States and the European Union, no exclusion process has been implemented by USTR.
