ACE PORTAL MODERNIZATION
Phase 1
Phase 1
U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP) sent out CSMS #50417689 on December 17, 2021 to alert the trade of their plans to deploy Phase 1 of the Automated Commercial Environment (ACE) Portal Modernization enhancements.
Beginning January 22, 2022, Phase 1 will include a new log-in screen, home page, and upgraded account user interface for viewing all account data and edit features for some basic information. All other ACE portal functionality will remain in the legacy ACE portal until future deployments are completed. Once all functionality has been transitioned through various phases, the legacy portal will be decommissioned. Throughout the transition however, CBP will continuously synchronize data between both versions. Users will still have access to the legacy ACE portal through a link in the new portal.
New Username and Password
Beginning January 22, when accessing the new ACE portal for the first time, trade users can select the “Login to the New Portal” button and on the next screen select “External Login.” Next you will be prompted to create a new username (your email address) and a new password and select the “Not a Member” button because you are not yet a member of the new ACE portal. Users will then complete a one-time sync of existing ACE portal access permissions by entering their legacy ACE portal username and password. Once this initial sync is complete, users will access the new ACE portal using their new username and password. Access to the legacy ACE portal from the new ACE portal will not require another log-in. You can read more about this at Trade User Information Notice.
Users will have one month to link their accounts and transition to using the new login page. Beginning February 20, 2022, users will no longer be able to log in from the legacy login page.
The Trade Transformation Office (TTO) will conduct a Deployment Support Call for trade users on Tuesday, January 25, 2022, from 2pm - 3pm ET. Meeting link: Trade Post-deployment Support Call
Future Phases
Once Phase 1 has been successfully deployed, CBP will continue with the transition by implementing additional functionality into the new ACE portal until all the legacy ACE portal features are available in the upgraded version which is planned for January 2023. Additional features include:
