TARIFF UPDATES FOR MARCH 4th
No changes were announced over the weekend regarding the March 4th doubling of the IEPPA tariffs on China (from 10% to 20%). As a result, effective March 4, 2025, the increases in the U.S. tariff landscape - at least with regard to Canada, Mexico and China - will be:
Canada
10% for energy and energy products
25% for all other products/goods
Mexico
25% for all products/goods
China
20% for all products/goods
The above new duties slated for March 4th are in addition to any other duties, such as U.S. regular duty rates, antidumping/countervailing duties, Section 301 duties, aluminum/steel duties, etc.
In addition to moving ahead on the tariffs on Canada and Mexico, Trump said he will charge China an additional 10% tariff on top of the 10% tariff he announced on Chinese imports this month. The 10% IEEPA additional tariffs on products of China that went into effect on February 4 will increase by an additional 10% on March 4.
We will continue to monitor this situation and provide updates when available.
