THE NEW APPROACH TO THE U.S. – CHINA TRADE RELATIONSHIP
The Office of the United States Trade Representative (USTR) announced today their plans to reinstate processes for importers to apply for Section 301 tariff exclusions. Although no specific details were addressed at this time, the USTR reported that “We will ensure current Section 301 tariffs align appropriately with our economic priorities like boosting American workers’ wages and job opportunities, securing the resilience of critical supply chains, sustaining our technological edge, and protecting our national security interests.” No other changes to Section 301 were addressed at this time.
